Equipped drawers: the order you can't see
Tailor-made products are also judged from the inside. equipped drawer It's a drawer in which each object has its own place, designed to fit exactly where it belongs. It's the part of the piece of furniture that no one photographs and that's used the most.
Why the standard divider is not enough
Commercially sized cutlery trays fit the drawer roughly: there are gaps on the sides, and the tray shifts every time it's opened. In a custom-designed drawer, the divider is exactly as wide as the compartment and never moves.
The wood inside
We make the utensils in the same wood as the furniture or in a light-colored wood that provides contrast. Beyond aesthetics, there's a practical reason: wood dampens the sound of cutlery and doesn't scratch like plastic, aging more gracefully.
Tall drawers and low drawers
The rule of thumb is simple: tall drawers under the stovetop for pots and pans, medium-sized ones near the sink for detergents, and low ones in the front row for cutlery and small utensils. It's a hierarchy born of gestures, not symmetry.
The internal drawer
Deep drawers can accommodate a second, lower drawer that slides over the first. This doubles the usable capacity without adding a door to the front: the cabinet stays clean from the outside, but holds twice as much inside. In small kitchens it's almost mandatory.
Spice racks, cutting boards and knives
These are the three most requested pieces of equipment after the cutlery tray. Knives are arranged in an inclined position with individual slots, spices are arranged in rows of cylindrical slots, and cutting boards are arranged vertically on a divider. They are designed by counting actual objects, not by guessing their number.
Not just cooking
In the bathroom, fitted drawers organize bottles and small items that would otherwise spill. In the bedroom, low trays hold watches and jewelry. In the walk-in closets They are the difference between a tidy wardrobe and one that gets messy in a month.
The cost of the equipment
This is a step-by-step process: you can equip all the drawers or just the three or four you open every day. We always recommend starting with those, because that's where the investment really pays off.
What makes a piece of furniture truly custom-made
A beautiful facade can be achieved in many ways. An interior that works perfectly for a family can only be achieved by designing it. It's the part of the job that doesn't appear in photographs and that clients most often mention years later.
