Small entrances: tailor-made solutions
The entryway is the room we use least and the one we see first. When it's small—a short hallway, a corridor—customization isn't about filling it up, but rather making it appear larger than it actually is. custom entryway works by subtraction.
The problem is not the surface, it's the depth
Most small entryways are narrow, not short. A standard-depth cabinet would make it impossible to pass through. Therefore, shallower depths are employed, with folding or sliding doors that avoid obstructing passage.
Hanging instead of containing
Where there's no room for a closet, a wall-mounted panel with hooks and a tall shelf solves ninety percent of your daily needs: coat, bag, keys. It takes up just a few centimeters and acts as a piece of furniture, not just storage.
Shoes, always the critical point
This is the item that creates the most clutter. Folding solutions have minimal depth because they hold shoes at an angle, and remain flush with the wall when closed. Custom-made shoe racks they are often the only piece of furniture that is really necessary.
The mirror as a design tool
In a narrow entrance, the mirror is not an accessory but a design choice: it doubles the perception of depth and restores light to a space that rarely has natural light. Full height the effect is maximum.
Exploit the high
The space above the door and above two meters is almost always unused. A tall compartment for suitcases and seasonal items is hidden from view and frees up space elsewhere. It's the least invasive storage solution available.
Light color or full color
Two opposing strategies, both valid. Light colors expand the entryway and make it seem like a continuation of the living room. Solid colors declare it a separate room: the space seems smaller but more intentional, and the threshold effect works better.
Light does half the work
Small entryways are often blind. A warm, diffused light, integrated into the furniture rather than suspended from the ceiling, avoids harsh shadows and broadens the perception of space. A central ceiling light, on the other hand, overwhelms.
A few things, done well
In a small entryway, every extra element stands out. A single, carefully designed piece of furniture is better than three solutions added over time: this is the room where the difference between custom and adaptation is most immediately visible.
