Hinges, drawer slides, cabinet lift systems, sliding and flush-fitting door mechanisms, adjustable feet, and suspension systems for free-standing furniture. Anything that allows one part of a piece of furniture to move relative to another.<\/p>\n

Hinges and adjustment<\/h2>\n

A modern hinge adjusts along three axes: height, depth, and lateral. This ensures even gaps between adjacent doors, even when the wall isn't perfectly level. Quality is measured by the durability of the adjustment.<\/p>\n

The drawer guides<\/h2>\n

Full-extension runners allow you to reach the bottom of the drawer without having to remove it. High-quality ones slide smoothly even when fully loaded and slide back in a controlled manner. In handle-less furniture<\/a> they also integrate the opening system.<\/p>\n

Slow down and open by pressure<\/h2>\n

Two different mechanisms that are often confused. The slow-action mechanism slows the closing process and prevents a slam. The push-open mechanism allows the door to be opened by pushing, and is the solution that allows for completely smooth doors, without handles or grooves.<\/p>\n

Wall unit systems<\/h2>\n

In the kitchen, tall cabinets open upward rather than sideways: no doors open at head height. Lifting systems hold the door in place in any position and must be calibrated for the actual weight of the panel, including the paint.<\/p>\n

A wall-hung piece of furniture places all its weight on the wall. It requires properly sized brackets and, above all, a suitable fastening for the type of wall\u2014which in Apulian homes can be tuff, stone, or perforated brick. The performance difference between a basic component and a high-end one is clear: guaranteed cycle times, quietness, adjustment stability, corrosion resistance. This is one of the factors that explains why two seemingly identical pieces of furniture aren't exactly identical.<\/p>\n

Hardware is the only part of a piece of furniture that can be judged by touch. A door that closes with a full, silent movement conveys quality before any description. This is why it's never the best option to skimp on.<\/p>\n
