Eliotropio
Eliotropio it's a custom entryway that rotates towards the light.
At the center of the white lacquer—composed like a continuous wainscoting, all frames and moldings—a lit space opens up, revealing a wall of oak slats: the warmth of the wood emerges from the whiteness like a small domestic sun.
All around, the furnishings enter into dialogue with the room, continuing the language of the walls and transforming waiting into a threshold.
A boiserie that becomes a container
The moulded frame doors continue the design of the wall without interruption: the gaze flows, the volume disappears.
It is the figure of a custom entryway Designed to complement the existing architecture, not overwhelm it. The proportions of the doors follow the vertical rhythm of the room, the frames echo the cornice molding, and every line flows seamlessly with the surrounding walls.
The white lacquer—matte, deep, hand-painted in our cabin in Bari—encloses everything in a clean surface, where the hand finds no interruption.
The illuminated space, the heart of the project
At the center of the composition is an open compartment lined with exposed vertical oak slats. A hidden light line above illuminates the grain, warming the wood, transforming it into the entrance's sole chromatic accent.
This is where the tailor-made entrance It reveals its character in the stark contrast between the white lacquer and the discreet fire of the wood, between what it holds and what it displays. A second, dark, linear profile above the wardrobe completes the dialogue with a simple, almost graphic accent.
Craftsmanship, light, precision
The oak slats are crafted individually, milled with a rounded profile and fitted with pinpoint precision. The lacquer is applied in multiple coats, sanded between each coat until the surface becomes silky smooth. The interior lighting is integrated during the design phase, never added afterward.
Eliotropio It is the demonstration of what a really means custom entryway Designed by Coletta Ebanisteria: a volume that becomes a wall, a wall that opens to the light, and behind every detail fifty years of artisanal workshop in Bari.
