Ninfea
Ninfea it's a custom bathroom furniture created for a private residence in Milan,
where precious materials become the true architectural language. A single, articulated space
in two areas - a technical ante-bathroom and a bright wet area, in dialogue with a small Zen garden -
think of it as a continuous path: white Carrara marble, burnished steel, clear essences
and herringbone parquet make up a refined palette, built on warm contrasts and studied proportions.
The anteroom: the hidden function
The journey begins from a'technical anteroom which houses an entire wardrobe column in oxidized anthracite gray finish, with open compartments and perfectly coplanar blind doors.
A solution that concentrates the entire storage function in an autonomous volume, separated from the wet area by a wall in cane glass which lets light filter through without compromising privacy. The continuity of the herringbone parquet leads the gaze from one area to another, while a side window opens onto a small Zen garden with white pebbles and Mediterranean plants, bringing natural light into the space and transforming a technical passage into a contemplative moment.
The sink area: marble, steel, light
The heart of the project is the sink area, built entirely on the dialogue between the white Carrara marble and'burnished steel.
The monolithic top and the fronts of the suspended cabinet are made from the same slab of marble with delicate grey veining, creating a perfect material continuity between the top and the volume below. On the top, a single burnished steel basin sink It pairs perfectly with the wall-mounted faucets in the same finish: a simple chromatic harmony, where the mineral warmth of the marble is offset by the deep gray of the metal. A second round, backlit mirror with a black frame and a sphere-shaped wall light in opal glass complete the scene, casting a soft, diffused light.
The striped wall: a scenic detail
The back wall of the sink area is covered in marble with vertical striped workmanship, a three-dimensional surface that plays with light and introduces a tactile vibration into an environment otherwise dominated by smooth surfaces.
On the opposite side, a structure in matte navy blue finish With open shelves, it organizes small decorative objects and introduces the project's only strong color accent: a splash of deep color that gives rhythm to the composition without altering its balance. Every detail—the frame of the reed glass, the black profile of the mirror, the doorbell knob—was chosen to interact with this pared-down palette.
