Mandorlo
Mandorlo it's a project of custom special pieces born from a challenge: to transform a veranda balcony into a new habitable space, capable of accommodating a comfortable living and one equipped laundry in the same space.
A balancing act between residential warmth and domestic functionality, where every centimeter has been designed to accommodate a double life.
The balcony that becomes a home
The starting point of Mandorlo is a veranda balcony, a passageway between the outside and inside that the client wanted to transform into a real environment, to be lived in every day.
The design challenge was twofold: to integrate a laundry corner with all its technical functionality, and at the same time create a welcoming living room where you can relax at sunset. Two opposing functions, resolved in a single coherent design — the typical example of custom special pieces, where no catalog solution could have worked.
The fireplace: the warm heart of the project
The scenic element of Mandorlo is the gas fireplace framed by a structure in Canaletto walnut which rises to full height and redraws the back wall.
The warmth of the dark wood interacts with the live fire, while the stone base and top with integrated lighting define the volume with architectural precision.
A fireplace that is not only heating, but emotional core of the new environment — the point where the balcony stops being a balcony and becomes, in effect, a living room.
The perforated panel: decorative jewelry
On the side wall, a perforated panel in white lacquered MDF Designed by our studio, it becomes the project's sartorial detail: an organic texture, inspired by natural and cellular forms, that plays with light and shadow, creating depth on an otherwise neutral surface.
A real one furnishing work Designed in CAD, prototyped, and milled to fit the window opening. Nothing standard, nothing mass-produced: each perforation has been designed to create a unique and unrepeatable design. It is precisely in this type of detail that the custom special pieces signed Coletta.
The laundry: the hidden function
On the opposite side of the living room, the custom-equipped laundry room integrates washing machine, tub, storage compartments and full-height columns in a compact volume in matt white lacquer. The continuity of the doors, the thin handles, and the absence of visual interruptions allow the technical area to disappear when not needed, giving the eye a clean and tidy environment.
Mandorlo It is the demonstration of what it really means to achieve custom special pieces: not a piece of furniture, but a complete architecture, capable of transforming a forgotten space into one of the most beloved places in the house.
